How to write some names of Egyptian gods in hieroglyphics


At a reader's request, I will now list the Egyptian gods and goddesses.

Amun-King of the Egyptian gods
Ra-God of the sun
Bastet (Bast)-Goddess of cats
Anubis-God of mummification
Apis-Physical manifestation of the creator god Ptah
Bes-Protector of the family
Khnum-God of potters
Hapy-God of Nile inundation
Hathor-Other form of Sekhmet. Hathor is the goddess of love
Horus-The falcon god, also known as the Avenger
Isis-Goddess of magic
Ma'at-Goddess of order and harmony. Ma'ats symbol is a bennu feather (feather of truth
Montu-Falcon-headed god of war
Nephthys-Wife of Seth, or Set
Nut-Goddess of the sky. Often confused with the 'nut' we eat.
Ptah-Creator god
Osiris-God of the Land of the Dead
Seth (Set)-God of the desert. As evil as he was, he was given the job of protecting Ra's boat from Apophis, the snake of chaos.
Sobek-The crocodile god
Thoth-God of scribes and learning
Khnum-Ra- Ba-soul of the sun god (Ra)
Khepri-Scarab god
Aten-Exclusive sun god
Mut-Wife of Amun
Geb-Husband of Nut, god of the earth
Min-God of fertility
Taweret-Household goddess
Renenutet-Goddess of the snakes
Serquet (Serket)-Scorpian goddess
Sokar-Falcon godd
Seshat-Goddess of writing
Baal-Warrior god
Shu-God of the wind. Like his daughter Nut, Shu can be confused with the 'shoe' worn on his foot. Hey, it's a homophone! Wait --- why did I suddenly go from talking about Shu to a writing lesson?
